Creciendo Juntos is a research study led by the Center for the Economics of Human Development at The University of Chicago. This study operates in partnership with Casa Central, a community-based organization in Chicago, to implement an evidence-based home visiting model (Preparing for Life) in the zip codes of 60632 & 60609 in Chicago's southwest side.
This randomized controlled trial will enroll 250 families to test whether intensive parenting support improves child development. The study uses validated assessments, surveys, qualitative methods, and administrative data. Rooted in community-based research, it emphasizes cultural responsiveness and trust. A 2024 pilot preceded full recruitment in 2025, building on successful outcomes from the Irish model. We are currently seeking financial partnerships and family enrollment.
Recruitment begins Summer 2025.
